What is brow lamination?

Brow Lamination is a chemical process similar to a hair perm. A hair perm, short for 'permanent wave,' is a chemical treatment that changes the structure of the hair to create curls or waves that last for an extended period of time. In brow lamination, we position the brows hairs in the same direction, usually upwards, aligning them very close to the skin. It is necessary to use an oil to keep these hairs moisturized, or any hair mask you have at home. As I mentioned, it's important to note that it's a chemical process, not just a treatment, as many people may say.

Brow Lamination process:

Cleansing and Preparation: The eyebrows are cleaned and prepared for the lamination process. This may involve removing any makeup or oils from the brow area.

Application of Brow Lamination Solution: A specialized brow lamination solution is applied to the eyebrow hairs. This solution helps to break down the natural bonds in the hair, allowing them to be reshaped and set in the desired position.

Setting Solution/Neutralization: Once the desired shape is achieved, a setting solution is applied to lock the brow hairs in place. This solution reforms the bonds in the hair, holding them in the newly shaped position.

Brow Shaping: After the solution is applied, the brow hairs are brushed and styled into the desired shape. They can be lifted upward, brushed outward, or shaped according to the client's preference.

Optional Tinting or Coloring: Some brow lamination treatments may include an optional tinting or coloring step to enhance the appearance of the brows.

Nourishment: Some treatments include a neutralizing step to balance the pH level of the hair. Additionally, nourishing products may be applied to condition and strengthen the brow hairs.

Benefits of Brow Lamination:

Fuller and Defined Brows: Brow lamination can create the appearance of fuller, more defined brows by rearranging and setting the existing hair in a desired shape.

Semi-Permanent Results: The effects of brow lamination can last for several weeks, making it a convenient option for those looking for longer-lasting results compared to daily brow grooming.
